Society 5.0 - Are You Ready? Are You Prepared?

They say that 'truth is stranger than fiction'.

It is also said that anything that can be dreamed up can be made reality. 

Are you aware of some of the technologies which are around these days, and how AI and VR are already - and potentially irrevocably - changing the future of how humans function on planet earth?

If you look at most box office movie hits these days, they are mostly a mix of real humans and AI (artificial intelligence) and VR (virtual reality) robots. And these are the movies the younger generation are flocking too. This is their life. 

In this blog I will share some of the craziest, weirdest - and very real - up and coming digital technologies which are emerging right now in the world, so you can choose:

'Do I go down the road of enhancing myself and my life using digital technology, or do I choose to enhance and cultivate my consciousness using my internal in-built ability to transform my world by transforming my consciousness from the inside out (without digital enhancement)?'

To my mind some of these new technologies provide all the more reason to maintain our 'humanity' and evolve our consciousness without the need for digital enhancement so that we evolve humanity in a natural way whilst maintaining utmost safety, integrity and wisdom.

Man Spends a Week in Virtual Reality

On February 20th, 2019 a guy spent 168 hours in a VR headset. This is what happened.

VR Video Sports Games and Concerts attended by millions

In November 2018 the League of Legends World Championship, an e-sports video game tournament developed by Riot Games, was attended by 127 million people, including 45,000+ people coming together to watch the live final in a stadium. 127 million real people watching a VR game!

200 million people watched the Fortnite World Cup, with $100 million in prize money.

In February 2019, DJ Marshmello hosted a virtual concert attended by 10 million users, giving a glimpse of the VR entertainment of the future. Lasting for just over 10 minutes, the concert simultaneously attracted over 10 million concurrent players worldwide. In comparison, Guinness World Records holds that the largest ever concert was attended by 4.2 million people.  

Sophia: The first robot declared a citizen by Saudi Arabia

2015. The so called “rise of the machines” has started, and it looks like obtaining citizenship is the first step. A robot named “Sophia” has made history, as it became the first ever to be granted a full Saudi Arabian citizenship. Developed by AI specialist David Hanson of Hanson Robotics, Sophia’s appointment was made public during the Future Investment Initiative held in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh. 2045: The Year Man Becomes Immortal

According to the Singularity movement, we're fast approaching the moment when humans and machines merge. The date has been set at 2045, 26 years from now.

"Kurzweil believes that we're approaching a moment when computers will become intelligent, and not just intelligent but more intelligent than humans. When that happens, humanity — our bodies, our minds, our civilization — will be completely and irreversibly transformed. He believes that this moment is not only inevitable but imminent. According to his calculations, the end of human civilization as we know it is about 35 years away"...

Society 5.0 - Are you ready?

What is Society 5.0?

One definition: "A human-centered society that balances economic advancement with the resolution of social problems by a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space."

Society 5.0 was proposed in the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan as a future society that Japan should aspire to. It follows the hunting society (Society 1.0), agricultural society (Society 2.0), industrial society (Society 3.0), and information society (Society 4.0).

My Preference?
